Overview:
Since Fostex launched the first stand alone digital multitrack recorder D-80 in 1996, the market has greatly changed Fostex D-Series recorders were originally targeted to the project and home studio market, however software based recorders have become more popular for this application. Throughout this period of change D-Series recorders have been used more and more for multi-channel live recording/reproduction due to their stable performance and better portability.
Full-Function remote/system status control
Because the extension cable for the D2424 removable front panel has about a 30ft distance limitation, installing a D2424 recorder at a greater distance from the operator was not easily possible. With C-Console, the Fostex D2424 can be located anywhere in the world and still be controlled as if it were right in front of you.
This facilitates multiple machine control at Live Events, multi-room facilities, theme park, and other commercial-type applications. Control can is achieved using TCP/IP and can be done over a wired or wireless network and even the Internet.
Revolutionize Customer Care and Support
Using the Internet, both the end-user and Fostex customer support representative can initiate an Internet connection through C-Console. At that moment, a customer support representative would have full access to the Fostex D2424 and can make system parameter changes and control the unit in real-time. This can also be done by two end-users. This technology can also be used to download common system configurations from Fostex's website allowing users to quickly setup their system with little to no previous experience with the unit.
Voice Recognition Plug-In
With this plug-in, the D2424 (and other Fostex/C-Console enabled products) can be fully controlled by giving voice commands. This allows blind and handicapped users to have full control and functionality of the D2424 with no limitations. This feature also lends itself to live event applications where hands-off operation may be necessary for the operator.
