Hi, I wonder if anyone can help me.
I've just purchased an NEC MultiSync EA 231WMi LCD monitor to plug into the above MB Pro 17" HiDef via the DVI port.
Having read the reviews about this monitor, I was expecting a lovely sharp, crisp image when plugged in, but I'm experiencing a soft image a million miles away from the laptops built in screen. I've tried every supported resolution in 'Displays', nothing seems to improve it. I've been through the menu's on the monitor, switched off auto-dim and eco mode.
Is this down to the supported resolutions on my MB Pro's video card? As I was hoping to use this for a main Photoshop retouching station, I'd like to resolve this problem asap, otherwise does it mean getting something to support the high resolution capabilities of this monitor?
Thanks for any help.

Looking at the specs, this MB Pro comes under late 2007 spec, but checking supported resolutions, it more than covers native resolutions for both main display and the NEC simultaneously.
Can anyone shed some light on this, or have I got this wrong? Is it down to DVI or could I use VGA with an adaptor - would this give me better resolution?
Cheers.
